'Holistic' is an overused word but Dr. Morris is the real thing. He knows the science backwards and forwards; he understands the mind-body connection; he's intuitive; and he cares. Add all that up and you have a bona fide healer.

John Surface, LCSW

After our first meeting with Dr. Morris I remember telling my family that this person really understands my son. Oh, what a relief for parents who want the very best for their child!

Children with developmental issues don't always fit into a simple category. Dr. Morris took the time to listen to me and to "get to know" my son, and over the course of time, tailor his treatment to our child's specific needs.

My son continues to grow and change and develop into the truly wonderful and unique little boy that he is. Dr. Morris has helped accelerate and support that growth.

With gratitude,

For over 10 years I have been having shoulder pain. It progressed to the point where I would wake up at night from the pain; at times unable to move my arms from the stiffness and pain and then rising in the morning, exhausted from lack of sleep. It became increasingly difficult and painful to perform activities of daily living like washing under my arms, combing my hair, getting dressed, putting on my coat and even scratching my back. The Orthopedist gave me a prescription for physical therapy which gave me minimal improvement. The Orthopedist said that I had bone on bone in my shoulders and there was nothing more he could offer me now except cortisone shots. Being a nurse I know the side effects of cortisone and was determined not to take it. He also said I could have surgery when I was older (I'm 57) but that the surgery would not improve my range of motion; only alleviate some of the pain. His words fell on my ears like a death sentence. There had to be someone out there who could help me. I went to a homeopath who recommended that I see an osteopath.

My first appointment with Dr. Morris was quite an experience. It was kind of like going to a doctor, psychiatrist and priest at the same time.

He not only did a thorough medical exam but also took the time to examine what was contributing to my physical problems. He shared with me how my emotions had set the stage for my physical problem. Then he did osteopathic manipulative treatment and explained that the body stores memories it cannot yet deal with in the body until it is ready to address them. Was I ever ready! (Translated: I was sick and tired of being sick and tired). But the best part of all was that after the first treatment I could feel a looseness in my joints where before there was only stiffness and pain. And I actually slept without waking from the pain. He also taught me how to draw out and address the painful emotional memories that preceded and contributed to the physical problem. It all made so much sense. Working through and dealing with those things I had suppressed coupled with Dr. Morris's osteopathic manipulative treatments, my shoulders began loosening up and moving in ways that I had forgotten they could. He also recommended restorative yoga that I have found very relaxing and helpful.

Part of me kept thinking "This sounds crazy, but it works." I can only say that Dr. Morris has given me a new lease on life. As he instructed, I continue to do the exercises, check-in with my emotions and how they are affecting me, and do restorative yoga. I also am very excited about my visits with him because I can't wait to experience the improvement in my shoulders that his treatments give me and to learn new exercises that together are helping me to get my life back. Because of his help, I am sleeping better and more rested, coping better with life, and thinking that that "death sentence" was really just a wakeup call and an answer to prayer. I now have hope!!

I've had several persistent structural problems over the past year or so, sciatica being the worst of them. Dr. Mark Morris's wise counsel and expert work with my body helped me immensely when regular MD's hadn't a clue. Physical therapy only made the problems worse. I'm cycling and exercising again and couldn't be more pleased. Thanks again.

Dr. Mark Morris is that rare healer, a physician in the truest and noblest sense of the word - someone thoroughly grounded not only in anatomy and physiology but also in biomechanics, mind-body medicine and therapeutic touch. He is no new age guru or charlatan. He is the real deal - a man of science who never forgets the person in front of him.

Dr. Morris is a man who listens, cares and has learned how to trigger the "inner physician" in each of us, to help us heal ourselves. His goal is not to keep you coming back, but to awaken what lies within each of us and make the need for his services obsolete.

In working with Dr. Morris I've learned that my health can be supported and respected, my concerns heard and my problems addressed. He puts the responsibility for his patients' health back in their hands and under their control. He heals sickness and imbalance and teaches patients how to continue to heal themselves.

You are the first person in the medical profession that I trust for my son. You are the first to really seem to be able to tie his issues together as opposed to seeing them separately.

As a triathlete I frequently suffer from overuse injuries and muscle strains. Since I have never liked the idea of taking medications unless absolutely necessary, I was thrilled to discover Dr. Morris. No matter what sort of pain or strain I come into his office with, not only do I leave with the pain gone and my body feeling looser, stronger, and better aligned, but I stay that way.

Dr. Morris is a rarity in today's world of medicine. He is a compassionate, wise, and empathic listener who takes a holistic approach to medicine. I have walked into his office several times after experiencing painful episodes of sciatica. With his help, I am able to practice yoga again and couldn't be more grateful.

In seeking relief from various ills and pains, I have been to many other practitioners including cranial osteopaths, manipulative medicine DOs, chiropractors, naturopaths, body workers, physical therapists, and MDs (including at the Mayo Clinic). The treatment Dr. Morris provided gave me something invaluable; something which none of these other practitioners provided. The differences are many and are varied.

First of all, I've never had a physician or any other health provider take anywhere near the time Dr. Morris did. He also took the time to give me directions on how to maintain my gains with the goal of being self-sufficient. Secondly, he is open-minded and is an artful listener. It is a rare physician that connects with his patients as Dr. Morris does. Thirdly, he is expert at assessment, diagnosis and treatment, all of which he accomplished in the initial visit. His working knowledge of anatomy is unparalleled. He is eminently approachable, and not a bit pedantic. He inspires confidence.

In my single visit with Dr Morris, I immediately saw improvement in a structural problem I've had for decades. also experienced two unexpected and delightful outcomes: an increased vitality, and a vastly improved singing voice!

Dr Morris is truly one of a kind, and someone to whom I would refer unconditionally.

I would also like to add that his Office Manager, Louise Goldsmith, was helpful, professional, direct, and respectful of my time.
